After the extraordinary success of his first Italian performance, which took place on 5 May 2018
as part of the international tour Circo Soledad, the Guatemalan Ricardo Arjona, superstar of the
Latin music, returns to Italy to promote the new album Blanco y Negro with two unmissable
concerts, on March 15th in Rome and March 16th in Milan.
The European dates inaugurate one of the most important and anticipated world tours for music
Latinoamericana of 2022. In Spain it has already sold out 19 shows.
After the Italian dates, concerts are scheduled in London, Paris, Zurich and Cologne.
At the end of March, the tour will move overseas with more than thirty dates in the USA.
Following the extraordinary sold out from the American presales, new dates were added to those initially planned in some cities, such as New York, Miami and Puerto Rico.
Two more concerts than those scheduled for Arjona's return to Chile, where he will perform for five consecutive nights in Santiago.
The four Argentine dates in Buenos Aires are already sold out.
The "hot" live energy of this eclectic Latin singer-songwriter and musician, who has collected two Grammy Awards such as "Best Male Pop Vocal Album" and "Best Latin Pop Album" in 2006 and 2007 with Adentro (2005), has already conquered ocean crowds of fans all over the world and is now preparing to thrill the Italian public more and more: over 1.5 million people attended the previous Circo Soledad tour live (2018), and more than 3 million users have
participated in Hecho a la Antigua (2021), the officially most viewed streaming event in the history of Latin American music.
The new and ambitious album Blanco y Negro, partly recorded in the iconic Abbey
Road Studios in London and released on December 3rd, contains 29 tracks and is split in two
parts, one of which unplugged: 6 of these songs were written and recorded in full pandemic and are
added to other 8 unreleased songs, for a total of 14 new songs.
The artist Ricardo Arjona, born Édgar Ricardo Arjona Morales, was born on January 19, 1964 in Jocotenango, a town in the Guatemalan hinterland not far from the capital city of Guatemala, where he moved while still a child and completed his academic and musical studies.
The opportunity to record his first album, Déjame decir que te amo, comes in 1985.
The album does not reach the hoped-for success: embittered and disappointed, Arjona decides to leave the world of music for a few years, in which he devotes himself to sport, coming to wear the jersey of the Guatemalan national basketball team. Music, however, remains his passion stronger than him, so much so as to induce him to give himself a second chance.
His consecration in his homeland as a composer and singer came in 1990, thanks to the song Jesús, verb no sustantivo, contained in the album of the same name, and his popularity grew to cross national borders between 1992 and 1993.
Animal Nocturno (1992) gives it an international reputation, thanks to its expressive power
the title track and the other two singles Mujeres and Cómo olvidarte.
In the 90s Arjona becomes one of the most famous representatives of the history of music
Latinoamericana: 15 studio albums, 19 compilations, 80 million copies sold worldwide, more than
30 songs written for other artists, millions of fans.
Winner of a Grammy (5 nominations), a Latin Grammy (14 nominations), 4 Billboard Awards (11
nomination), with 4 albums ranked first on the Billboard Latin 34 Luna Park in Argentina.
Arjona has the distinction of having recorded the attendance record at a concert in Guatemala with 120,000 people, has 57 concerts to his credit at the National Auditorium of Mexico and is the artist who has performed several times in the legendary festival of Viña del Mar , in Chile.
Among his collaborations, we point out two important ones, the one with the legendary New York crooner Tony Bennett Hecho a la Antigua (2011) is the most watched streaming concert in Latin America.
And the one with singer Ricky Martin for the song Asignatura pendiente from the 2003 album Almas Del Silencio.
